Nandrolone Phenylpropionate

Indications

Indicating Nandrolone Phenylpropionate 
* as an adjuvant treatment of specific therapies and dietary measures in pathological conditions characterized by negative nitrogen balance. 
* is used for palliative treatment of selected female disseminated breast cancer cases 
* osteoporosis.

Pharmacology

Nandrolone Phenylpropionate is an injectable anabolic preparation. The pharmacologically active substance is Nandrolone. Phenylpropionate makes the preparation last about 1 week after injection. Nandrolone is chemically related to male hormones. Compared with testosterone, it improves anabolic activity and reduces androgenic activity. This has been confirmed in animal bioassays and explained by receptor binding studies. Nandrolone's hypoandrogenicity has been confirmed in clinical use. 
 

In humans, Nandrolone Phenylpropionate has a nitrogen-saving effect. This effect on protein metabolism is determined through metabolic studies and used for treatment in cases of protein deficiency, such as during debilitating chronic diseases and after major surgery and severe trauma. Under these conditions, nandrolone phenylpropionate is used as an adjuvant for specific therapies and dietary measures. In women with disseminated breast cancer, in selected cases, nandrolone phenylpropionate is reported to cause objective regression over several months. Additionally, Nandrolone Phenylpropionate has been shown to relieve bone pain in patients with osteoporosis. An equally effective nandrolone ester, nandrolone decanoate, has been shown to increase bone mineral content in these patients. At recommended doses, androgenic effects (such as virilization) are relatively rare. Nandrolone lacks the C17 alpha alkyl group associated with liver dysfunction and cholestasis.

Dosage & Administration

As an adjunct to specific therapies and dietary measures in pathologic conditions characterized by a negative nitrogen balance: Recommended dose is 25-50 mg every week.

For the palliative treatment of selected cases of disseminated mammary carcinoma in women: Recommended dose is 50 mg every week.

Osteoporosis: Recommended dose is 50 mg every week.

For an optimal therapeutic effect it is necessary to administer adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals and protein in a calorie-rich diet. Nandrolone Phenylpropionate should be administered by deep intramuscular injection.

Interactions

Anabolic steroids can improve glucose tolerance and reduce the need for insulin or other antidiabetic medications in diabetics.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated for pregnancy, men with known or suspected prostate cancer or breast cancer.

Side Effects

High doses, long-term treatment and/or too frequent administration can lead to: 
 *virilization in sensitive women, such as hoarseness, acne, hirsutism, and increased libido; prepubertal boys have increased erection frequency and penis enlargement, and girls have For increased pubic hair and clitoral hypertrophy. Hoarseness may be the first symptom of a change in voice, and it will eventually lead to a constant low voice, sometimes irreversible. 
 *Amenorrhea. 
 *Spermogenesis is inhibited. 
 *The epiphysis closed prematurely. 
 *Liquid retention.

Pregnancy

Because the fetus can become virilized, the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy. Data on the use of the drug during lactation are insufficient to assess the potential harm to the baby or the possible impact on milk production.

Precautions

If signs of virilization appear, consider stopping treatment, preferably in consultation with the patient. 
 

Monitoring of patients with any of the following conditions is recommended: 
Potential or obvious heart failure, kidney dysfunction, high blood pressure or migraine (or a history of these conditions), because anabolic steroids can occasionally cause fluid retention: 
 

Body development Incomplete, because anabolic steroids in high doses can accelerate the closure of the epiphysis; cases of bone metastases from breast cancer. In these patients, hypercalcemia may occur spontaneously or as a result of anabolic steroid therapy. The latter may indicate a positive tumor response to hormone therapy. However, hypercalcemia must be treated properly first, and hormone therapy can be resumed after calcium levels return to normal; liver dysfunction. 
 

The use of anabolic steroids to enhance exercise capacity may bring serious health risks to users and should be discouraged.
