The treatment of fungal infections in cases where co-existing inflammatory symptoms, such as itching, necessitate prompt alleviation.
Clotrimazole inhibits ergosterol production, causing structural and functional changes in the fungal cytoplasmic membrane. Hydrocortisone is a weak corticosteroid with glucocorticoid and, to a lesser extent, mineralocorticoid action that possesses antiphlogistic, antipruriginous, antiexudative, and antiallergic properties.
Contraceptive efficacy may be reduced.
It is not recommended for patients who have a history of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this product.
Allergy response (e.g., syncope, urticaria, dyspnea, hypotension), blisters, oedema, discomfort/pain, erythema, peeling/exfoliation, irritation Rarely, hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal axis suppression, cushingoid characteristics, delayed weight gain/growth retardation in children, glaucoma, HTN, hyperglycemia/glucosuria, osteoporosis, cataract, increased weight/obesity, reduced endogenous cortisol levels, and steroid withdrawal syndrome.
Pregnancy classification: Unclassified. The FDA has yet to assign the medication to a specific pregnancy category.
The napkins may function as an occlusive dressing in babies, increasing absorption. Treatment should last no more than seven days.
Localized moderate burning or discomfort may occur on rare occasions. Hypersensitivity responses are possible.
