The treatment of fungal infections where co-existing symptoms of inflammation e.g. itching, require rapid relief.
Clotrimazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, leading to changes in the structure and function of the fungal cytoplasmic membrane. Hydrocortisone, a weak corticosteroid with both glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid activity to a lesser extent, has antipyretic, antipruritic, antiemetic, and antiallergic effects.
Apply thinly and evenly to the affected area twice daily
May reduce effectiveness of contraceptives.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of this preparation.
Allergic reactions (eg, syncope, hives, dyspnea, hypotension), blisters, edema, discomfort / pain, erythema, peeling / peeling, irritation. Rarely, suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, Cushing-like characteristics, weight gain / childhood growth retardation, glaucoma, HTN, hyperglycaemia / diabetes, osteoporosis, cataracts, weight gain / obesity, decreased levels of endogenous cortisol, steroid withdrawal syndrome.
Pregnancy category: Not classified. The FDA has not yet classified this drug in a specific category for pregnant women.
In infants, the napkins may act as an occlusive dressing and increase absorption. Treatment should be for a maximum period of seven days.
Rarely local mild burning or irritation may be experienced. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Hydrocortisone & Combined preparations
Store in a dry area at a temperature of not more than 30°C. Light and dampness should be avoided. Keep out of children's reach.
