Olopatadine Hydrochloride
Olopatadine is used to relieve itchiness in the eyes caused by allergic conjunctivitis.
Olopatadine is a histamine H1antagonist that reduces the type 1 acute hypersensitivity reaction in vivo and in vitro, including reduction of histamine produced effects on human conjunctival epithelial cells. The alpha adrenergic, dopamine, and muscarinic type 1 and 2 receptors are all unaffected by olopatadine. Olopatadine was found to have a minimal systemic exposure after topical ocular application in humans.
