Vinpocetine.
For the treatment of acute and chronic cerebral circulatory insufficiency: acute ischemic stroke due to cerebral thrombosis, cerebral embolism, acute circulatory disorder; alzheimer’s disease, multi-infract dementia, encephalopathy due to hypertension, acute cardiovascular disorders, cerebral
arteriosclerosis, reversible ischemic neurological deficit( RIND). Ophthalmology For the treatment of arteriosclerotic disorder of the choroids
and retina, macula degeneration, vasospasm, secondary glaucoma. Otology For the treatment of the Cochleo-Vestibular Impairment due to
acute otitis media, for the treatment of presbyacusis, meniere’s disease, tinnitus and dizziness.
Vinpocetine is taken 15-30 mg daily in 3 divided doses with meals. The maintenance dose is 15 mg three times daily over long periods.
Those who added Vinpocetine to their Warfarin dosage noticed a slight alteration in prothrombin time. The modifications appear to be minor. So yet, no further interactions have been documented. As a result, it can be used in a variety of ways.
Vinpocetine should not be used during pregnancy or nursing. It's also not recommended if you're allergic to any of the ingredients.
Vinpocetine is well tolerated by most people. A brief drop in blood pressure and tachycardia may occur in some circumstances.
Vinpocetine is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation. Because in pregnancy it may cause fetus death and abortion. It can be crossed to breast milk; therefore drug should not be used by women who are lactating.
